EcoTypes Survey 2024-25

EcoTypes Survey 2024-25

Here is the EcoTypes 2024-25 Survey!

By completing this anonymous survey, you’ll immediately receive a personalized report you can retrieve at any time. Below are full details.

Click Next at bottom to accept these guidelines and begin!

EcoTypes are our environmental frameworks: the fundamental ways we approach environmental issues. What is your EcoType, and how does your EcoType compare with others? Take this survey and find out!

In this survey, you will position yourself relative to twelve opposing pairs of environmental statements, corresponding to EcoTypes axes. You’ll do each with a graphical slider that has six steps from the statement at left to the one at right. There is no middle position!: think hard and make a choice.

All sliders start on the far left; move each to indicate your position relative to the two statements.
Here is an example. In this case you agree with the statement at right a little more than the one at left.

Important!: If you are taking this survey on a mobile device, please rotate it to landscape (sideways) mode for slider questions, so that they display correctly.

The wording of many statements is intentionally strong, to suggest differing approaches to environmental issues. There are no right or wrong answers! All of your data will be stored anonymously, so please provide an honest answer.

After the environmental statements, you’ll choose among a list of global priorities. Finally, we request that you share information about yourself, such as your age or gender, to help us understand patterns in EcoTypes. All information will remain confidential.

EcoTypes is an educational initiative. If requested by your instructor or researcher, please select your group code on the next page. And if you are interested in the followup reflection form and/or a followup interview, enter your email address at the end (optional); all data will be stored confidentially.

The survey should take you about 20 minutes to complete. The entire survey must be completed start to finish, so make sure you have sufficient time. The progress bar at bottom will show you how close you are to completing the survey.

When you submit the survey your data will be analyzed, and you’ll immediately receive a personalized report, with a unique entry key so that you can retrieve your report at any time. Make sure to write down your entry key!: since the survey is anonymous, there is no other way to retrieve your data.

Submission of this survey indicates your willingness to store your survey data anonymously, and for your anonymous data to be included in statistical summaries for educational and research purposes, for which EcoTypes has research approval from Lewis & Clark College (HSRC #2019-40).
